Patient Participation Group
We encourage our patients to give their views about new developments in the Practice and our wider community. We think it is important to access views and opinions from as many patients as possible and we strongly encourage our patients to join our PPG.
We have consulted with our patients and our feedback suggests that many of our patients are busy and may not have time to come to the surgery for face to face meetings. Therefore, we have created an active ‘virtual’ group of our patients. This mechanism allows patients to easily exchange views, participate in practice surveys and with whom we can consult from time to time by email.
Meetings
A PPG meeting is attended by senior member of the Practice, and practice patients and carers. It is usually by up to 10 people.
The meeting is managed by the Patient Chair or Practice Chair.
The meeting follows an agenda that can look similar to this:
- Welcome and introductions
- Minutes and actions arising from the last meeting
- Updates from GP practice
- Other agenda items
- Patients’ feedback, suggestions and comments
- Date of the next meeting
The meetings usually last around 1 hour.
Latest PPG Update 2026
We always seek to encourage our patients to give their views about new developments in the Practice and our wider community. We think it is important to access views and opinions from as many patients as possible and we strongly encourage our patients to contribute to our PPG.
Consultation with our patients and their carers feedback suggests that many do not have time to come to the surgery for face-to-face meetings. Therefore, we have created an active ‘virtual’ group of our patients. This mechanism allows patients to easily exchange views, participate in practice developments and create a pool of advice to help develop the care we offer
As we have developed our very active social media presence much discussion and comment is fed into our PPG, so that our patient voice is both listened to, and heard. We feel this mechanism adds to a rich breadth and depth of opinion, across our whole patient population
In 2025 we have focused on improving patient access, and support for carers. We will continue these themes into 2026/7, especially as we develop new building plans to help enhance our clinical room capacity. In addition we will continue our valuable work as an active research practice , engaging with patients on studies that matter for them.
